Wasi is a club run set of Nordic ski and snowshoe loops just south of North Bay. With 31 km of groomed trail,   there is a lot to try. (43 km if you start each loop from the Chalet)

All are only classic cross-country ski track through narrow paths with 7.5 km being double tracked, with no skate skiing offered.

From the trailhead, expect a little bit of climb at first, but the terrain seems to level off and does not appear to be hilly beyond.

Grooming is done by the club and local conditions are posted on their club website.

A trail pass is a nice modest price especially to get your kids out of the house at $3 each! Unfortunately no rentals on the premises.

With an honour system setup by the club, it has a rustic, family friendly feel to it. Offering simple but needed amenities, you will find a woodstove heating a small chalet that has a few tables for breaking out the lunch you brought.

Volunteers may be here to help monitor those going in deep, but you are on your own to pay and sign in.

Snowshoeing is also a winter sport here with 7 km trail to try. There are six short loops plus the blue dotted 2 km trail on the map taking you to the warming hut/outhouse in the middle.

I was just passing through to take a few pix after skiing North Bay Nordic. Too late to ski there too, I will definitely put it on my shortlist and so should you.

Note: I have yet to ski this location and am posting these details to inform and not as a full review. The club has supplied me with some information and images. I invite you to check them out and then leave your own review below.
